Seen some people put their title as SWE while others use Sr. SWE or Staff SWE. I know titles are not public and everyone is SWE. Was wondering if there's any pros or cons with using Sr. or staff in front of your title if you are E5 or E6? Especially if your colleagues find out. I assume they kind of know your level anyway. For getting good recruiter mails, having the Sr. or staff would help. TC 470
This is just for people who want to shine
Of course. But I think having the title explicit helps getting the right kind of recruiter emails for your next gig.
I think it’s worth if your level is high and overall shows good trajectory. If your level is something you’re not proud of then it’s better not to show it. Recruiters will ask or figure out your level anyways, but your LinkedIn is not only seen by recruiters
I put my title in LinkedIn as I am actively interviewing outside and don't want to get downleveled or lowballed

What is driving inflation in 🇺🇸
Usually E5 is senior and E6 is staff.
Correct. My question was is it viewed negatively if you put it to your linkedin as FB don't have titles?
Nope, rather it makes it clear to others who aren’t aware of E4/5/6.
