Just notice sonder’s stock price started from $7 during initial listing. Went to top $10 and then less than $1 recently. Does that mean de-listing is coming? Also what will happen to the company’s funding if stock price is that low? FYI sonder is a hotel product company TC $150k
Someone on r/WSB must’ve shorted the shit out of it lol there’s always someone on there that turns $500 into $100K by finding such stonks
Market is ruthless. Now sonder must do sth to keep stock price more than $1.
They will do a reserve split long before it is in trouble of being delisted.
Was going to work for a competitor… surprised at how cheap the company is on a price per key basis
Here is what the founder as been busy with. Buying Pharell's LA Home and redecorating it. Too busy to look after the company https://nypost.com/2022/02/28/pharrells-la-home-sold-to-sonders-francis-davidson/
There are way too many founders / CEOs who take the company public just for the “badge” sake. They want to add, “successfully took company public” to their resumes. Sonder is one such example.
I have no idea but I stayed at a Sonder hotel by chance earlier this year. It was very pricey and kind of sucked. I had to enter a long passcode on my hotel room door to get in each time. Any time I requested something basic like an extra blanket, it would take like 30-60 minutes and would be brought by someone who looked more like a DoorDash gig worker than a hotel employee.
I thought I was being smart. I found them on Vrbo and they had decent reviews on Vrbo. So I booked a room directly on sonder’s site to save a few bucks. A few weeks before the trip I realized I made a big mistake. Reviews for the property on gmaps were awful. Every issue you could imagine was referenced. Prices for other properties were much lower too. I chatted in and requested to cancel for a full refund and they did give it to me after a small amount of back and forth which was nice. But it seemed like the customer service was not US based as their English was awful.
Same, I went there on a recent trip to Philadelphia. I was curious as it looked really neat, had great location and the price was OK. The room was so small, checking in was complicated, the walls were paper thin, I could hear the neighbour's playing music and listening to TV through the night. It took about 15 minutes of chatting with an online agent for them to bring security to for the noise. No credits or refunds, no follow ups after that. NEVER booking with them again. I can understand why their stock is crashing when the experience is inferior to a typical Airbnb super host.
