Stanford SCPD/HCL computer Science

Hello, my employer pays up to 50k in school tuition and I want to use it to earn MSCS degree from Stanford. I already have a MS degree in information technology and MBA from great public universities. My undergraduate degree GPA wasn’t great but both of my MS & MBA degree GPA are 3.4+. Currently got accepted as Non-degree student. My plan is to take 2-3 CS courses then apply next year as SCPD/HCL degree seeking. Will my undergrad GPA still be relevant and did anyone here got accepted into Stanford SCPD and how was your experience. YOE: 8 years TC: $150k #stanford #tech

50k annually? Shit that’s good

Raytheon theHustler OP May 31, 2021

No, 25k annually for 2 years

What’s ROI after this you think?

Raytheon theHustler OP May 31, 2021

Up to 30% TC pump with my current company. Better network with startup community in the valley and VC space.

My friend at Raytheon had to stay there for a few years after the degree, Otherwise he would have to payback the tuition cost

Rackspace pinkman_j May 31, 2021

If you spent less time you can double your tc. Why spent time for 30%

Raytheon theHustler OP May 31, 2021

30% is only if I take some of Stanford CS AI courses by end of 2021. It can be more but the other benefits that come with it are priceless.

Ok whatever works for you

Please keep in mind taking these courses does not significantly increase the chances of you getting an admission. Don't mean to discourage you but the scpd courses are nowhere as selective as the masters so keep that in mind when you plan.

Copy that. Thanks

There’re also non scpd courses, presumably the same as from Masters program (like CS103). Is it worth taking them, without the official enrollment to the Masters program? Are they helpful if I decide to enroll to full fledged masters program after all?

Take some. If not, it is good for a different graduate school.
