Audible updates
Hi folks! Joining Audible in the next few weeks as a SDE. Saw the news around layoffs at Amazon. How are things looking at Audible? Did you hear any updates internally?
I was wondering this too. I saw that Audible is actually a great business – one of the few that dominate this space and Audible has a strong hold on a large part of it. I would assume they’ll do a slim cut, but nothing deep. More an excuse to release low performers

What level are you joining?
I just joined, I start the week after Thanksgiving. I was nervous, but then my travel got booked for on boarding
I also will join audiable around dec. I am worrying the lay off( I heard someone from Alex team cut the ppl who is less than 18 months)
Leadership has been saying Audible is profitable and it is safe. Hoping there is truth in that talk.
They do have the lions share of the still growing audiobook market. Double digit growth in that sector every year for the past 10. I’m cautiously optimistic… but until the economy gets better, I plan to start with them and save every last penny . This is my first high TC gig , and I have a very affordable mortgage so I’m taking the opportunity to shore up my savings
