Portugal is great for retirement not for earning money
Ok who voted Canada being worse than Italy?
Confirmation bias. Most Indians in US move to Canada but not Italy. So they don't know how Italy is like. But I personally have experienced Italy, Canada and US would anyway blindly pick Canada given choice over Italy even if Italy offered slightly higher pay. Been called "Paki" many times, mugged and treated like trash by people in Italy. If you are anything except white, that's how majority of Europe treats you, with possible exception of Switzerland and UK.
I think Portugal is kinda low. Look up the average income for an engineer. I’ve also read the minimum wage is around 800€ per month. That’s pretty low IMO.
Income doesn't matter much. Income/expense ratio does.
The average Portuguese person doesn’t earn enough for their quickly rising cost of living. Inflation is around 4% and the average rent cost is $1200 as of this year. They can’t afford to live in their own country with those wages.
