I'm currently a Technical Solutions Engineer at Google. Received an offer from Rackspace UK. How is rackspace in 2023 ? Worth leaving Google for Rackspace ? Current TC: 110k GBP Rackspace offer: 125k GBP ( All cash) Update: Ended up rejecting the offer.
Rackspace is owned by Apollo global management. Do some research on how they conduct the businesses they manage, and then make your decision.
If Rackspace survives another year or two I’ll be surprised.
I feel the same. They are struggling to change as a company.
110k Quids? People in US are making minimum $350k at Google, you need to change your country mate, not the company.
Not TSEs. It’s a fancy title for what is essentially a tech support role. Pay doesn’t come anywhere near the number you quoted
I’m a TSE too. I think it’s a job that’s challenging for all the wrong reasons: you deal with difficult customers, you have no job security because you’re gradually getting replaced by vendors in low wage locations, you’re on call nonstop, and if you ever want to change roles - you gotta interview just like an external candidate. If Rackspace is offering you a non-customer facing role, then that is career growth and you need to take that into account. That might be worth even more than the TC. Just saying.
Huge hug. Nice summary of the TSE problem.
The reviews on blind are absolutely horrendous. Honestly that’s enough for me to say no.
Rejected the offer.
This is a personal decision. I'm not in sales but we just went through a reorg, with a new CEO. Ask to talk to a Senior manager or something and ask them to explain the vision the company has. If you believe in it, than do the jump. It's nice to be part of the process. If you don't see the plan....run 😉
Can you give me referral
Only 15k jump I wouldn’t tbh.
Rackspace is dead. Apollo and Kevin Jones killed it. RIP.
How the hell is rackspace in the UK lol
Rackspace is all around the world...
