Mathworks TC : 155 k Boston Panasonic avionics TC : 150k , remote . Have to relocate to Boston from Houston if I choose Mathworks. YOE : 6 Role : Senior Software Engineer Edit: in terms of job security and company culture, which is better ?
Remote work
Remote
2nd one, unless you want to move anyway
Boston is nice. Take the remote job.
Boston is expensive. I live here. 150k from Houston will be equivalent to 200k in Boston area.
Boston/natick area is expensive. Take the remote job. I lived in both texas, and Boston area. Texas is better
Houston is super chip when compared to Boston. If you like remote work then choose Houston
I love Boston but it's an expensive city. Plus you can move there with the remote job too.
If you're asking about job security and company culture, MathWorks is great. However, you can do fully remote at a LCOL location with other choice. One more factor is if 155k @ Mathworks is base and not TC? If you do good work the profit sharing can become quite good. My TC this year with 2 yoe will be around that due to performance related bonuses
