I have accepted VMWare offer recently and planning to join next month. Considering the Broadcom (ruthless layoffs) acquiring VMware (incase), is it still better to join VMware or stay at existing job and look for opportunities somewhere else. TC: 225k #tech #vmware #broadcom #acquisition #newhire
Does VMware pay better than Amazon? Or you are doing it for better WLB
Note that broadcom requires all employees in office, there is no wfh
Not even hybrid?
Sh!!t
Stay away
I'm expecting an offer from them, is it really going to be that bad?
Yes, there will be a hiring freeze if this is true
Already hiring freeze until august at vmware
Not true we are interviewing people and have positions open
Is it safe to join VMware as mts2? ... I'm expecting an offer soon
Not safe. Stay away if on h1b. Current employees themselves are worried about layoff.
If ur in a good flow with interviews, please continue and reject VMware. Or stay put in ur current company and continue interviewing
wait for the acquisition rumours to be confirmed before making a choice, if it is true start looking for another gig asap
confirmed this morning... wondering if those that just joined will be let go even earlier
Not at all. The acquisition transition takes at least 6-9 months.
Broadcom/VMware states they want the acquisition to finish by end of October (end of Broadcom's FY)
End of Oct 22 or Oct 23?
Probably nov 22.
Why would you join if this is confirmed,
