Should I join AppDynamics now that it is Cisco
Got an offer from AppDynamics with good team and total compensation. Although not sure if I should join given its a Cisco company now.
It'll depend on where you're coming from and what your career goals are. You can do far worse than working for Cisco. Cisco is know for acquire, integrate, and spin off. Depending on where your interview questions put you in that progression, you have most of the variables needed to figure out what's best for you.

We're not that bad! It's a great company for work-life balance and collaborative, relatively laid-back culture (depending on your team). You can WFH frequently in most teams. The drawback, as always, is that it's a big company with way too many managers and things take forever. If you have any questions, feel free to ask one of us. We're pretty friendly.

Absolutely not true
Cisco, from what I can see so far, has stayed out of the way. They have done the same with Meraki, Jasper etc too. Only time will tell if they will continue running it as a separate company, but so far, that is the clear indication they have given. If you'd have joined AppD before the acquisition at the same offer, you should do so now - the acquisition has not changed much within the company.

Yes, the acquisition did do wonders to the personal finance situation of many employees. But the good and bad parts of working at AppD still have more less stayed the same - the same opportunities in front, the same challenges to execution, good leadership which has a decent chance to overcome the challenges. Ask the Specter folks to learn more.
