VMware Benefits?
Joining VMware soon but haven’t heard much about their benefits besides their Take program? What are some other benefits that you know of provided to VMware employees?

Why the downgrade from Amazon to VMware. Pretty sure they don't pay as much and they have 'unlimited' leave I think. At least I hear WLB is nice
Was focused in a non tech pm role at Amazon and just wanted to dive more into cloud, plan on either boomerang or move to Google or Apple (maybe start-up or masters 🤷🏻♂️). Also surprisingly my offer was more at VMware since I was a new grad and WLB is definitely leagues better
VMware has higher tc than Amazon except SDE2. Especially for new grads. Idc levels.fyi is misleading.
Is it still a downgrade if you get more pay and more scope because I'd upleveling?
VMware stock is not doing well. Pay may not be higher eventually.
Apart from the benefits from their official link, you also get $250 for WFH setup and an annual $1k wellness benefit.
I didn't get $250 wfh set up
Check your first few paychecks. I got mine in the second paycheck and it was ~170 after taxes.
WFH $250, $1000 for well-being allowance ( you can use that for anything that supports physical or emotional well-being) Also Take1, Take3 and Take5, each program allows you to do certain things like courses or conferences in take 1, take 3 (after 3 yrs)is 2 weeks to work on any other team , and if you make it till 5 years, take 5 allows 1 quarter to work in any other team of your interest. FYI I’ve not tried it myself

Benefits are awesome. Insurance is exceptional, unlimited PTO is awesome (for me, though may depend on the team). I think the company does a great job of taking care of its employees.

You also get $25 a month for internet (I agree it’s not much, but wanted to add it to the list) also, the greatest benefit is the amazing WLB and a respectful workplace. People genuinely listen to your ideas instead of thinking of ways to shoot it down.
