Hi everyone- I am signing with VMware for a non-engineering role and entering as a P4 with 17% annual bonus. I am curious about the Bonus Structure at Vmware…. 1. What is a P5, P6 annual bonus structure? 2. Is there a multiplier that can be added on top of the given bonus? That is, depending on individual performance and company performance Can one get more than 100% of the stated bonus? How how often has that happened in the last few years? 3. How likely or often does RSU refreshers happen? 4. Average and likelihood of salary bumps/promotion? Thank you!! Also, any thoughts on the Broadcom news?! Current TC: 90+ New TC: 192k (including 15k signon) YOE: 3years and 10 months #vmware #vmwaresalary #vmwarebase #tech
Same with previous acquisitions but they still operated independently
Broadcom software group will become vmware after merge....no separate company .....just another big org /BU in Broadcom
Hock has no history of letting any acquisition operate independently, not sure why that would change with us, this isnt Dell also yes, you can exceed 100% bonus if your manager wants it
Non-engineering roles are what will get slashed to get to return. Go read about what happened to companies when bought by Computer Associates. That is the model Avago-as-Broadcom is pursuing (they even bought CA!).
I had my last bonus increased to 20% and was told is due to performance. later we were informed that all bonuses are increased basically everyone gets the bonus of the level above from now on. This all will probably change after merger
Lolz... your manager is kickass
He is a slicky one ain’t it?! He also once said that one of our teammates quit and will be terminated on the spot because “that’s how it is in some sites” although the teammate was on slack for over a week afterwards
When deal closes, you will get a totally new offer from Broadcom (if you survive).
I would really reconsider this offer if I were you
I wouldn’t take that offer if possible

I am starting to think Chinese interviewers currently fail non-Chinese candidates on purpose.
Layoff expected after merger is complete
Layoffs at what level? (Yoe)
With VMware leading the software side and given past acquisition by EMC and Dell you dont think we will maintain autonomy? Broadcom is more focused on Semiconductor..just my take
