VMware Feedback for Technical Rounds?

Hey guys - I recently gave interviews for SMTS position at VMware. R1, R2, the feedback on R1 was 50-50, so HR scheduled an extra round. So, I proceeded with R3 & R4. I have been told R3 feedback is postive but R4 has suggested no hire. So, in total 2 pass, 2 fail. R1 was a bit dicey on 2-3 items which I needed the hands-experience on; and R4 has suggested for no-hire (I don't know the details yet). HR will get the panel discussion and take final inputs from Hiring Manager if they can proceed with mangerial / director round - depending on how they take the feedback collectively. Anyone given interviews for P4,P5 - SMTS, Staff Engineer roles - what's your feedback on this? I will get to know in 2-3 days. #tech #vmware #hiring

Mixed feedback. Usually in such situations, it’s the manager who makes the call on hire/no-hire. Totally on gut feeling based decision and usually less related to performance. But I would lean on the side of no-hire

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I am still awaiting for the feedback, hoping it to be positive for me. There wasn't much of a blunder as I had really good conversations with all four but I see a couple of things could have been improved (speaking from the technical assessment perspective). Coverage wise Cyber Security is very much wide. If all goes good, what can I expect in Director / Hiring Manager / Last round? One of the guys who interviewed is the hiring manager and his feedback was positive. Though, I got to know from HR that this HM was covering for another HM who was on leave but I am assuming they would be pretty much in sync.

If you got a no-hire from one of the interviewers, chances are slim. I know that because I’ve interviewed candidates at VMW
