Does anyone know what the severance package will be for VMware employees laid off after the Broadcom acquisition goes through? #severance #layoff
It’s likely to have Layoffs, I can’t believe they axed the job I applied for after extending me a verbal offer. At least it was just verbal, I could be without a job now, got lucky.
Why go from Amazon to Vmware, that is a downgrade right?
U r in vmware but u asked here in blind. Lol
Yes, because I'm wondering if anyone knows. I'll probably be laid off but they aren't tell us anything about the severance package which is why I asked here.
why do you think you would be laid off?
Why would company do acquisitions when they want to fire… ugh!!
Acquisitions typically take 5-6 months to close post announcement as they require regulatory approvals in different geographies where the subsidiaries are located After formal closing takes place there is workforce optimization and maybe layoffs if any - so I would say instead of panicking see how the acquisition plays out? Also you may internally look at how the organic attrition levels are at VMWare - if the attrition is already high then mostly companies would not want to do layoffs
In summary: take it easy and start leetcoding.
Lol True !
It will likely be whatever the VMware policy was.
I got an offer from VMware good compensation, shall i accept and join.
Same here. Are you joining?
I have declined the offer.
Two months of pain, 1 week of disappointment. Lifetime betrayal.
