VMware Senior MTS move to Staff how difficult?
Got an offer Senior MTS @ PA. The numbers seems about right 150k b 17p bonus 100k rsu 10k signup. But wondiner how difficult to move from Senior to Staff? In Amazon it is extremely difficult to become principle. But I think VMware Staff is more like high band of Amazon SDE3 to low band of Principle.

It's not that difficult. But it depends on responsibilities you get and the time you are in the company. You need leadership responsibilities and need to display that for at least 1-2 years.

Maybe negotiate on your base. 100k RSU per year?
100k rsu / 4 years. There's very few data point in Glassdoor. Not sure if I'm low balled or not. Do you think 170k base is too much to ask?
That's more on the low side. I would say ask for 170 but settle for 160. Also try to bump your RSUs to 150.

Here is my MTS-3 offer from end of last year. Base - 155k RSU'S - 120k and 10k signing bonus. So I think you should negotiate for more.
Did you have competing offers? That seems really high for MTS3
Oh yes, I did have competing offers and was willing to walk away (and did walk away in the end) but my initial offer was not far off from this final offer. Initially they offered 152k base, 100k RSU'S and 10k signing bonus.
It depends a lot on BU and team (and of course individual). What's ur BU?
