I recently interviewed at VMware and got a positive feedback from the recruiter. The recruiter reached out to me saying there has been a reorg and hiring manager has changed. He wants me to have a final round of conversation with new hiring manager(conversation will be more on job details and roles and responsibilities etc). What do you guys think I should ask them for TC. note: The interview went really really well. My Current TC: 150 + Stocks( Startup which is not IPOed) Position interviewed: senior member of technical staff YOE: 9 years Location : Boston. Also how is the WLB at VMware ? Any input and feedback would be highly appreciated. #vmware #interview #offer #offers #tech #google #facebook #faang #negotiateoffer #negotiate
It's scary to see how political it can be at VMWare especially if you have teammates working from India. It obviously is team dependent but I have nothing positive to speak about them.
Oh , that’s sad to here. Luckily this team doesn’t have anyone working in India
Wlb and benefits are cool - top tier like any other big tech companies.
Worked there for 6 months in Palo Alto. Had an amazing team but hands down worst company I’ve worked for. Pat (ceo) is great but management is super political which is exasperated by the constant acquisitions which always seemed to shift things internally. Benefits are DEF not like any other tech company. Salaries are below average, Bay Area perks are basically non existent, you have to pay for gym memberships (if your office has one), no good donation matches, and 401k matching is just alright. I simply used the job as a platform to put me where I am now. My manager was fucking awesome, as is Pat, but the rest of the company is eh. WLB is good because people don’t aspire for much. Free bagels and some fresh fruit 2x/week. Hope you love Pete’s coffee.
What did they ask?
Did you finally got offer from other group or joined them? If so what was the offer?
WLB great, politics terrible
Can you elaborate more on the politics part ?
The usual, competing teams, bad decisions and scrapped projects
