VP Participation in Apple Interviews - How did it go for you?

I'm progressing through an interview process for a non-tech role with Apple. My recruiter told me at the beginning of the process that the final onsite round would be with a VP. TC: 210 YOE: 12+ For this role, I've completed the following: - Phone Interview with direct report of Hiring Manager - Onsite 1st Round Loop with 5 people (including another direct report of hiring manager, a peer in a similar role, and 3 XFN stakeholders) + recruiter - Onsite 2nd Round Loop with 3 of the originally 5 scheduled people (3 more XFN Leaders with -Next week I will complete the 2 people who weren't available for 2nd round loop (Hiring Manager and another XFN leader to be completed next week - first conversation with hiring manage during process) I imagine I'm not the only candidate who had a "broken" 2nd round experience given the scheduling challenges of the participants so it may take a few days for other candidates to finish 2nd round. Not including the VP, I'll have spoken to 11 people for this role and in my most recent experience the in interview feedback was very positive and these XFN stakeholders seem highly motivated for the HM to complete this search ASAP because they need the help. Apple candidates and employees a few questions: 1) Did your interview include a VP interview? 2) If yes, was it any different than the others? 3) If yes, was it scheduled the same day as other interviews or separately at the end? 4) If no, was it cancelled or never presented as part of your process? 5) Do VPs always weigh in on compensation if it makes it to offer? #apple #applecareer #applecareers #appleinterview #apple

Woo... I’ve learned that the more people you interview with the higher the TC... VP interviews are a great sign

Curious what role / level is this? I’m a lowly IC on tech side and our interview process is quite different from what you described

I believe it’s IC4. Don’t want to disclose role broadly here in case recruiters are lurking.

The role reports into a Sr director, but the rest of the Hiring Manager’s Direct reports are Sr Manager. The hiring manager reports into a VP so this role, a non-Tech “manager” IC role has a skip level manager of a VP.

Something very similar happened to a friend of mine. He got in as PM in CoreOS. Basically multiple on sites and final rounds with much higher management. Idk, I thought this is a general norm for the non-tech (or PM?) type of roles at Apple.

Could you please share your interview experience? What was the areas of focus?

Sounds like a behavioral interview which is probably universal for tech and non tech. Practice using STAR method. Don’t say anything to give them doubt about you e.g. lie about wanting to work a shit ton if they ask, don’t talk about past conflicts with management. I’ve been rejected by a director before for being too honest about weaknesses and not bullshitting about impressive projects. Don’t sound fake when you over sell.

@ExFBDude I am in the same boat. What type of questions should I expect?
