VP sales, SF Bay Area comp

Hoping for negotiation advice. I am the VP sales over my company's top performing team (ad tech space, SF) . We regularly hit and exceed goals so I do make my TC but I am severely underpaid compared to colleagues. 160k base 320ish TC plus options. My boss does not like to talk money. He gets awkward and changes the subject every time I bring it up. I know this role is worth 180-220k base in my market. I also have a pretty sweet flexible wfh arrangement when not traveling which is the main reason I have not jumped yet. What advice do you have on how to approach this successfully with an "old school" executive manager who shys away from talking about compensation? @VPsales

If you are a good "VP of Sales", you should know how to bring up uncomfortable topics, negotiate and close. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

The president, who I report to, tells me it's an inappropriate topic. I have never experienced this before in my nearly 20 year sales career.

How many days before he retires? If he is there to stay, jump! Then if your team calls on you, you meet them and see if they have opportunities to jump as well. You have built your team. You could work for A or B

I swear, people don't realize what's given to them. VP of sales and you're out here on Blind? You should be telling us what to do. Your team may kill their quotas but I truly doubt it's because of you.

Actually, I have been here since we were a small startup and brought in the company's top 3 ARR accounts globally. My team, who I've hired all of over 5 years, now run those and more, so I believe the company knows it's because of me. I did not come in after the fact and inherit a top performing team, I built it from scratch. It's the guy I have to explain numbers to who thinks it's still 1985 that is what I'm looking for approach suggestions with.
