Asking for a friend. Ex cryptographer for the navy + 15 years of non-web based experience at Raytheon. High clearance level. Do you think they can transition into tech?
Heās actually a SWE not SE
Your friend should consider working for someone like Booz Allen.
Why, those places will never pay as much. I say forget the clearance, and switch to tech. Although they would probably still need to leetcode and my run into ageism.
It should be very easy to get into Azure or AWS with a clearance, and then transfer later. Ergo skipping the harder interviews.
I was at Booz and switched to Raytheon. Bc Raytheon is more R and D and they will pay up to 2 courses per semester. Thatās 4 courses of grad work per year, while Booz cap at 5k or so per year. Going for a part time MBA or Sys engineer part time degree. Also, my salary jumped 30% when I changed to Raytheon!
How would we know? It depends on the person who canāt even ask their own questions.
āHigh clearance levelā BTW-whatās Oath?
