Planning a 10 day, 9 night road trip with family (2 Adults, 2 kids: 7, 11). The budget is coming out to over $6000. Hotel: $2100 Gas: $520 Food: $1000 Snacks/coffee/Water: $350 Attractions: $1350 Petcare: $700 Shopping: $350 We are traveling the South western US (California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah). Is this a reasonable budget? TC 500k Yoe 15
This is extremely cheap! We easily spend that for 4-5 days
Wow. Yeah, I like to stretch my dollars out for vacations
Hotel seems a little low- basically $200 a day? Not including potential taxes/hotel fees/parking? Are you camping some of the days?
4 nights at a 5 star resort. Other nights at a Marriott, Holiday Inn express, Econo lodge and La Quinta
Why is someone with 500k tc trying to scrimp and budget on a local road trip?
Have an international trip (&10k plus in Summer) and a week long trip in November, and a week in December. Keeping overall costs reasonable
It's pretty reasonable. Have fun with your family !
Thanks
Where in california
Death Valley NP Grand Canyon NP Zion Bryce
Any reason for picking these places?
Nice planning ππΌ
Are you sure that's enough budget for food on the road for 4 people for 10 days? Yall eating fast food the whole time or what? I can't do a sit down dinner for my family of 4 for under $85 (plus tip!).
One sit down restaurant per day. The rest in fast food and fruits veggies from supermarkets
Technically food budget is $1350 (combine food and water snack coffee)
