Vanguard APR in settlement account

Every now and then, I have been plowing money out from vanguard settlement account to Ally Savings, apr 4.8% or so, assuming that money sitting idly in settlement is money wasted - better in savings where it earns interest I now notice 5.3% 7 day yield in vanguard settlement account - Does this mean settlement account is interest bearing now, like savings account? Is that 5.3% comparable to savings account 4.8%?

Yep. Fidelitys money market is hovering around 5%. The main difference I think is the fees.

Fees between money market and a savings account.

There is never idle money in brokerage account, they are always invested in a MMF, historically MMF pay very little interest compare to HYSA but recently MMF have outperform HYSA so just park your money in settlement funds
