Vanguard vs. ETRADE

Is there any advantage from one over the other?
For example, if I invest on VTSAX, would someone recommend Vaguard over ETRADE?

If you have less than $400k-ish, doesn't matter. If you have more, I'd recommend splitting it up (no more than $400k with either broker) so you get more SIPC insurance. Won't protect you from markets going down, but it should protect you if either broker goes bust due to fraud (call me paranoid).

  • Vanguard. Etrade Schwab Robinhood and others scam you on your uninvested cash.

    • Vanguard puts your uninvested cash into a federal money market fund. Which currently pays 1.72% interest. Etrade does the same thing with ur cash but pays something like 0.01% interest and pockets the other 1.7%. Which is a total scam. They take in billions a year off this.
