Saturday 9/3: Power off from 8AM to 11:30AM. Monday 9/5: Power off from about 12:50PM to 1:15PM, then off from 4PM to 1AM. For dinner, used a butane gas burner to steam old leftovers. Ate outside with family around a lantern. Good family bonding experience. My mom said it was like 70's Vietnam, but at least the street lights were still on in Vietnam. Admittedly, LED lanterns and gas burners are a big improvement from kerosene and charcoal. Tuesday 9/6: Power off from 1PM to 8PM. Stayed in the office until the last shuttle. Tired of this shit. The grid in my area is fucked. The people down the street have electricity, but not my section of the grid. Some people got hit with rolling blackouts, but my area didn't need it-- ours didn't work to begin with. Guess I did my part lol. Lived here my entire life. Have always disliked PG&E's shoddy service. I've come to expect a few blackouts a year, but this is is pretty bad even for PG&E. I've been getting better outage alerts from Xfinity than PG&E, who hardly even gives proper estimates on when power will be back. This is what it's like to live in the "tech center of the world". Location: North San Jose, near Milpitas. TC: 200k
Shocking. Is this in Bay Area?
Woops yea, forgot to mention it in the post. North San Jose, near Milpitas.
Go solar. Fuck the grid.
Look at this peasant with their weak power grid. San Francisco Block 50 master race.
Go solar
Already ordered a while ago, but they're installing in November
It's California government's fault. They put too much regulations making it expensive to generate and distribute electricity. Enjoy.
False. This is a failure "free" markets.
That would be if they couldn't afford the bill, not rolling blackouts. At least PG&E is second worst. ERCOT takes that title.
Vietnamese here, your mom exaggerated. There is no power off in Mountain View btw
it was less about black outs and more that they didn't use much electricity where they were at the time
Seems fine in SF so far. My apartment complex also has solar apart from PG&E. That could be a reason.
Sorry buddy can't do anything. Hopefully they fixes soon not having these power outages. I was wondering where did all the people go, who where complaining about Texas grid.
Where do you live?
