The man I love hates me because I’m Vietnamese
I know there are a lot fans of Venmo but the fact the default setting is to have your transactions as public and visible to strangers is insane. Yesterday, I paid my cleaner via Venmo and accidentally forgot to make the transaction private, which up until then I have always done, and within a few hours, I had absolute strangers hitting me up to be my sugarbabies, directly sending me requests for money because of some made up sob stories and all sorts of other nonsense. What freaking financial institution or service would expose your transactional data and money dealings like that to strangers?? Whoever decided to do this crap for some cheap growth hackiness sucks.
Isnt there a site for that sugar baby crap haha
No clue but I guess they use Venmo as a makeshift social network.
Think it's called seekingArrangement
You can set the visibility default in settings tho?
Tbh I didn’t know but regardless the fact the initial default setting is public is the main point. In fact, why even have a public setting in a service like this one. Both are signs of growth hack shortcuts.
Yea I agree it is weird. Venmo is the perfect place for you to stalk someone. You basically know their schedule and who they hang out with.
Wait a minute. Did I read this right? Facebook employee is complaining about default privacy settings!?
No longer in FB and that’s besides the point. Also, it’s stupid to make generalizations like that as if every individual working for a company is solely responsible for everything in it. While I was in FB I had zero to do with the privacy settings the company implemented.
I didn't say you implemented privacy settings at Facebook. It's stupid to assume I did. I was pointing out that you're complaining about something your previous company is infamous for doing.
Blame the millenials
Sugar baby rants 😄😄👯♀️👯♀️
Wait what? Do sugar babies troll the public stream for maid payments in order to find well-to-do users?
Seems like it. Had 3 different superbaby accounts hit me up like that before I retroactively changed the transaction’s setting to private.
I even had a “father of 3” send me a direct request for a $75 payment he was asking me to accept to help out his family in time of need. An absolute stranger sent me a money request order *facepalm*.
