Is this offer from Verizon decent for band 6 QA Automation? Also is QA at Verizon decent and what can I expect in terms of WLB at Verizon? Bonus Question: is it remote these days or are they going to make me go into the Alpharetta office? Offer: 127k base, 12.5k bonus, no RSU Target bonus - 10% Target RSU per year - 6k or something 🥜 This is also for Verizon Connect technically so not sure if that team is good for stability and security. Fun fact: Verizon actually has good healthcare, coming from Microsoft. It's not as good but it's the best of many I have seen lately outside of big tech.
If your bonus is 10% and your RSU is 6k that sounds off. 7T bonus is 10% and 7V is 12%. 6k RSU is band 7V also. That doesn’t sound like band 6. The salary seems closer in line to band 7.

You are right it's band 7. I don't know the levels well. Based on it being band 7, does that sound better?
I don’t know what market pay is for the position but that sounds decent for band 7.
Yeah it's more than I make now. The main issue is idk if they will let me be remote or not and the commute for me would be gross. Most of the QA counterparts are in Dublin so I'm asking for remote and then I'll do it if so
Did you ask? Where is your Sr manager located as well as the rest of the team? Many times if the team is scattered the manager won’t ask you to report to an office.
They said they need me to come in person which is dumb so I passed on it
I thought band 6 sti is fixed at 20%. I see a mid to low band 6 salary but rest of numbers are for band 7.
There is overlap in band salaries depending on job function and even within titles. 125k is low to mid band 7 for some jobs.
125k is not low or mid for band 7. It's near the very top for that band.
It depends on the team but while we were WFH for a while we will be back in the office soon. More in than out. They are adamant it is by role not person in my area so I have to go in even though no one I work with is in my building. Healthcare seemed good but Ive been getting alot of things not covered fully in the last couple years that were fine before and they are getting worse and worse on restricting care or medication outright. Maybe they are good until you actually need it.
What is RSU?
Going from Microsoft to Verizon is a big step down. That 6k rsu translates to 6000 dollars over 3 years, or 2k of rsu value per year before tax. You heard me right. 2k per year. If you are getting paid peanuts at msft go to another tech company.
