Manager scheduled a last minute meeting today to inform us that we’ll be having a “small” reduction in the workforce but don’t know which departments are affected. My PM informed me that around 32,000 employees will be laid off. Manager said we’re good for now, but my gut feeling says to not believe that. What do y’all recommend? I’ve been casually interviewing but I haven’t even passed recruiter screenings even though calls with them went really good. #verizon
HOLY SHIT gotta protect their quarterly earnings! CEO needs that bonus
I need the bonus, I expect them to pay dividends and increase them. If they don't, time to sell and buy something else.
Marx: were you expecting otherwise?
Time to look for a new job
That's a pretty big cut right? 30%?
It's not that big this person is exaggerating. Maybe in Thier narrow org but not 30 percent company wide. I don't know a single person impacted today. 30 percent company wide would be earth shattering news for a boring company like Verizon.
Well they said they’re not announcing who’s laid off. We won’t know unless we message someone and see their slack is deactivated or emails bounce back. This is just what a PM on my team told me 🤷🏾♂️
Oof.
Can you hear me now 📉
Didn't Kroger buy Albertsons?
Sixgen@ are you new here?
30k is a massive amount
I think it's 3200. They are closing 7 call centers in 5 states.
They do this every year at about the same time.
its about the time!! verizon tech is crap!!
Leetcode 24/7
Will do. Time to LC
Do you recommend I quiet quit and just not put in effort - I do my best to go above and beyond but don’t see a point in it anymore
