Very competitive price on gold coins @ Costco

They sell out very quickly, but I'm very glad I bought five of em.

Salesforce Zaphod B Apr 4

Are they Kirkland brand?

Achronix chadrules OP Apr 4

They sell different ones, I got the coins sourced from the Royal Canadian Mint. 99.9999% gold

Google 764asdf Apr 4

what's the return policy?

Peloton trexjk Apr 4

Where do u find them? Website?

Achronix chadrules OP Apr 4

It's a banner on their main page, when they have inventory you'll see the banner. No sales tax, free shipping by UPS (with signature required).

Coin or bar? But why would you want to hold physical gold?

Achronix chadrules OP Apr 4

Both, 1 ounce a piece. I bought it for my grandkids who are in Canada, when they sell them in 20 years to help pay for college there is no capitol gains to be paid. The gold itself will grow in value, tax free.

Microsoft ItGonaBOka Apr 4

Interesting take on taxes. But we are assuming the government won't change the rules.

Achronix chadrules OP Apr 4

Well, if they choose to change the taxation, it's a physical asset. I'm sure you can find someone to pay cash for it.

Meta spizle Apr 5

Why is this only "if they choose to change the taxation?" There's currently no legal way to avoid capital gains taxes on gold, right?

Achronix chadrules OP Apr 4

You do realize index funds have been on an unusual trajectory, I wouldn't blindly bet on em for 20 years. To further complicate things I'm in the U.S. and the grandkids are Canadian, money doesn't flow over the border all that easily. Also, I like physical assets that I own, be it gold or RE. In any event, it's a store of wealth and does not replace stocks/bonds/etc.

Grab WhatDotCD Apr 4

the tx costs are too high for me on physical gold. you instantly "lose" 5% of the value when you buy and sell it.

Apple yKT24n Apr 4

Are you their brand ambassador?

Achronix chadrules OP Apr 4

Hardly, thought I'd share some information others may find interesting/attractive. If that's not you then find something better to do.

Apple yKT24n Apr 4

Ok OP. Okay.

Chewy blndoption Apr 4

Do you have an alert or something for when they are selling?

Achronix chadrules OP Apr 4

Unfortunately, no. I check the site a couple of times a day. It's annoying, but they do sell out quickly.

Chewy blndoption Apr 4

Darn but also thank you! Haha

Meta curious!? Apr 5

Great way to hit credit card spend limits too. Buy them at Costco then sell them

Cloudflare networth-y Apr 5

Yea this is the big plus. Since a couple years ago if you were to purchase on a bullion distributor website with a credit card, they consider it a cash advance which 1) insane interest rate 2)doesn’t count always towards minimum spend

NVIDIA justlie Apr 10

Where do you sell them?

Achronix chadrules OP Apr 5

Gold is not taxed in Canada, when the time comes I'll give em to the kids and they can sell them @ fair market value. Only provision is the gold must be 99% pure.

Meta Lighthouse Apr 5

Assuming the tax rules won't change for 20 years is an... interesting approach.
