Folks I can't find much about visa layoff or recession. Seems like some rif happened in 2016. Regardless how is the company when it cuts in some departments? Do you get any help to move? Are you treated like external just like ms does? In the company do teams trust the technical aptitude of other teams? TC:170K
No place is safe. Layoffs can happen anywhere. If they did not do layoffs in the last recession does not mean they won’t do it now. We live in a world that has too many moving parameters.
I am aware. It's just that ms you reinterview. I am trying to gauge if visa is more helpful in redistributed displaced talent
No they don’t. The company manages their expenses well and doesn’t overpay/overhire people to get in that position.
Visa doesn’t do mass layoffs but there may some teams that identify positions that can be eliminated. It takes a lot of effort for them to do that so they’ll usually just try to manage out bad employees. In the cases where they eliminate your position they work with you and give you time to apply internally for other roles and usually give you some severance.
Visa is sitting well. And not at a high risk
Visa never does layoffs.
They had it in 2016, lots of people fired irrespective of performance ratings.
In 2016, Visa did a location strategy shift. They cut fte headcount in California and moved it to Austin or Denver. Those team members were given the opportunity to move.
