Visitor Visa for my partner

I work on H1B visa for past couple of years and I have I-140 approved. I visited India this year in Feb and got engaged. I came back to USA after my engagement and again planning to go back to India in December for the marriage. We were thinking that my partner would apply for visitor visa but some people suggested that visitor visa in case on non-blood relationship gets denied and this will also impact H4 when you will apply for it in the future. I won't be able to travel before December because my work isn't permitting. I am planning to apply for her H4 in December itself when I will go there. Does anyone here has any suggestions on if what I heard about visitor visa is true or not and if there is any other way out for my partner to come with me in Dec? My initial plan was to apply for visitor visa now and then H4 in Dec . While H4 will process, my partner would still be able to come with me in December after our marriage on visitor visa but seems like it won't work :( #visa #h4visa #h1b

Why does your partner have to show any relationship for a visitor visa? Can’t they just come on the pretext of a trip? I wouldn’t believe everything that people say cause half the time, folks are talking out their ass. Also where’s your tc

First of all - did you check if there are visa appointments available? People are waiting for months and the earliest ones are in mid 2023.

Your partner can come on visitor visa and still get H4. They can screw up B2 interviews but will still get their H4. Also better option is to get court married and apply for H4 directly.

I think all you have to show is money in the bank to sponsor the trip and some planned itinerary. I would be more worried about availability of visa appointments at this stage.
