I had an interview and the hiring manager sounded arrogant
It's not bad! Company is doing well, employees are happy, but it doesn't pay as well as FANG and co. The tech is really cool and complex!
Tell us more! Does the technology have a future?
The tech is really powerful. It's essentially enterprise grade IFTTT with a ton of other products supporting it. The model is not lucrative growth wise, but has a lock in aspect. Basically once a customer adopts us it will be very hard for them to get rid of us out of their system.
They don't have people to interview , so they use Karat for phone screens ...
We do, we just watch the recordings sped up. It's a more accurate and efficient screen at the cost of $$. Makes it easier for us devs.
Karat isn't used for phone screens, we have a whole talent team for that. It's the coding exercises part that we use karat to filter candidates (and our engineers do watch them) and even then we take things into consideration (fresh out of college who're used to taking "tests" vs. someone in the industry who hasn't "tested" in that way for numerous years). If we grow larger, we'd have more bandwidth to have our own engineers do this part, but it doesn't make sense right now to use their time on such a beginning stage of the interview process.
There is your answer on why most of us should not interview with Mulesoft
Its totally focused on sales...most of the people hired....are more like meeting coordinators. Engineering has hardly come out with any new products in couple of years.
Crowd release is all new products.
Is that really a product...dig out internally and try to get the real answer...is it a product or really rebranding. Look at the marketing statement "This Anypoint Platform release introduces significant updates to Anypoint Exchange and the new Anypoint Design Center"
Will mulesoft nosedive in next couple of years? Looks like it's a complex product to use but has tons of marketing fluff around it on internet? Is that true?
No. We have huge customers who understand the value we bring.
They make you work like a Mule.
paralyzed product leadership that can't prioritize a feature over a squirrel on the fence bad/outdated practices because you can't invest in fixing things until you finish just one more feature because customer X really needs it not a bad place for a senior to join and make big impact since there are problems to solve and money flows, but it can be perpetually frustrating
Terrible org to work for
It sucks. Just a bunch of stubborn jackasses braying about how good they are.
Well looking back...jackasses...made a good exit...
