Then you won’t need to attend night meetings with china and say goodbye to 996.
Why sign up for 996 and then complain
Tiktok > all social media combined. Tiktok will kill meta and youtube soon.
I would like a forced sell, but I don’t have late night meetings with China or 996.
I’d prefer to wait until bytedance can go public. Much larger company with many products ready for market long term. TikTok is only one. Basically you would be rooting for a spin-off of FB while leaving Instagram. Doesn’t make sense. The only way it works anyway is with the algo sent with it. And I don’t think China would agree to that. They shouldn’t have to. If this was a French company it would be unheard of and France would be furious at the US for even suggesting it.
No way China lets US strongarm it into a sale of tiktok and associated IPs. Forced sale means rolling back musically acquisition, which means mass layoffs and reduction to core teams until this new product becomes profitable.
What’s 996?
I work in Tiktok USDS and the culture has been great so far
Tbh yes 90% of my issues with this company are because of Chinese management and Bytedance policy and red tape: take that away and let TikTok be run like an actual startup without an overbearing parent company and it could be a great place to work.
Yea TikTok U.S is actually very small and lean. It’s Bytedance global that has the bureaucracy
Hopefully a sale means more liquidity for my currently paper RSUs. I don’t think China is going to allow the sale, my guess is situation going to be a long process before we see any tangible results (likely after 2024 elections)
It will be a surprise to see if bytedance looses US market. PS: They had awesome revenue from Indian market. If they spin off they can go back to the revenue producing Indian market. If US bans, Europe, UK, Canada and Australia will follow and bytedance will be screwed totally….
I thought it was banned in several countries including India ?
India was the biggest market they lost. 🇵🇰 and New Zealand 🇳🇿 banned but they unbanned in a year.
