Applause for Biden for not apologising
Unlike most politicians and celebrities who feign an apology when their comments get a lot of backslash, I’m impressed Biden did not immediately shed crocodile tears but stood his ground that he didn’t justify racism but merely reminisced working with senators who had supported segregation. Yeah I never got the constant apologies. If you want progress then the past will naturally seem "wrong" over time. A society that doesn't have an "outdated" past is a static one.
How does the fact that a society evolves prevent normal people from being apologetic about past behavior? If I was a bully at school when my brain was underdeveloped, and now in retrospective I see that and realize it was a mistake, why is it weird to be apologetic? You’re just putting to things that are unrelated in the same sentence as if they were related.
You shouldn't be made to apologise. If you feel like you should then by all means go ahead. Hillary was opposed to gay marriage in the 90s but nobody attacked her for it so I'm not sure why Biden is being portrayed as a sexual predator and a racist when he is in reality a good man. ...I guess being a straight white male in the DNC sets you up for being attacked and incorrectly characterized.
