For folks that “grew up” in traditional accounting / finance roles, at what point in your career would you pivot to rev ops role? What strategy has worked for you to make the switch. I see several on LI that started out in non ops role and now are VP etc in rev ops. YOE: 10+ B Tax: 0
I’ve done rev ops, S&O, and FP&A. The hardest thing in Rev Ops was how volatile it was compared to other areas. Opex was pretty easy to predict, revenue especially in this economic environment is really difficult. So you need strong modeling capabilities and need to be running a lot of sensitivity analysis.
