What is the car ? - 2023 Honda Odyssey. Fully paid off. Location: San Jose, CA What is the major issue ? - At my new place where I plan to live for a year, parking garage is tight and won't fit such a big car. Street parking on a daily basis is not a viable option due to parking restrictions. Ideal solution: - I would like to swap my mini-van for a smaller car for a year while I am at this current home. Other ideas : - Sell the car : I don't want to sell the car as this is a new car and I will be in this situation just for a year. - List on Turo : Even if I list on Turo, it still leaves with the hassle of finding parking on days when my car is not rented out. When the car is rented out, I would still need another car. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I can use your car for 1 year. Let me know if you are interested.
What city are you in ?

Find a parking spot with a nearby neighbor that's walkable
I can pay you rent for a year. I actually need a 7/8 seat car for few months. Also, happy to trade - aka - give you my small SUV to use.
Sure, I'm interested to learn more. DM with more details?
Just park it in a safe neighborhood like in Cupertino. Go back like once a month to move it or whatever. If you have a friend with parking space you can always ask them if you can park your car there. Parking garages can be pretty affordable. Why get a smaller car when you can just keep using yours.
Thanks for the suggestion. It's more about the hassle. I need a car that I can use like most people can by taking it straight from the garage. That is why I am looking to swap the car for a year while I have this parking restriction.
If you need it after one year you can just park it somewhere else or put it in storage. Why don't you live in some place else with better parking? A minivan is not that big. We are not talking about a Ford F-250.
While it may seem like a great idea to trade with someone for a year that can get complicated if anything goes wrong. Let's say one of you gets into an accident, who's responsible for fixing the car? The owner or the driver? What about insurance? Can you insure a random unrelated person to drive your car? If not, then insurance won't cover any damages. Taking this into account, it's actually less hassle to purchase a parking spot in a nearby garage.
Forgot to mention. If you actually need a smaller car then park your large one in a cheap garage far away and rent a smaller vehicle for a year to park at home. If someone else is regularly driving your car and wrecks it then you're going to regret swapping.
Sell the minivan is simpler, no hassle with Turo or liability or moving the vehicle. Take the L and move on.
Find a different parking garage and pay the monthly rate to store it. Or negotiate a yearly rate where you pay upfront. Put it in turo from the new garage.
