I am 30, no 401k, 1M cash in HYSAs. Rate my financial standing?
Does anyone have any insight on the WL balance, TC (approx.) and overall work environment within Blackrock’s Aladdin division? Thanks in advance. #Finance #Data

I started my career from blackrock. It is actually a good place to learn about finance but again compensation is low and perks aren't that good. But, they have good work. Tech is generally not the latest one in finance industry cz they want reliability but may diff from team to team. Overall I think I learnt a lot at Blackrock. Although my manager was absolutely an unhappy soul/idiot( the entire office new that) but I was also a new grad so I too didn't choose diplomacy at that time.
WLB in APG is really good in EMEA
Low TC and no work life balance in SF. Expected to start early from west coast and work till late when working on CET. Product squads are spread out over non overlapping time zones due to bad management.
It's a company that wants to be known as a tech company but doesn't want to pay like a tech company.
Highly dependent WLB depending on your role in Aladdin biz. APG generally better, BRS generally worse with exceptions on both sides. Would not recommend BRS
Is Aladdin and Asset Management team/division one and the same? Possible interview in asset management team related to core trading platform itseems. Not having a detailed job role from recruiter yet
Blackrock is known for compensating tech poorly. I dropped out of their hiring process due to comp. The guy there I was talking to was very candid that they simply don't pay their tech people and couldn't meet my requirements.
It’s rare that financial institutions compensate well for their data/tech divisions… usually not worth it when you look at the expected numbers of working hours
