WDC Sr. Technologist -> Micron SMTS
Location: Milpitas What to expect for Micron SMTS hardware engineering architecture in terms of base/sign on/stocks? No way for DMTS, so SMTS is the offered level. As far as I understand the target bonus is 20% (Sr. Technologist is 30%). Current TC: $240K YOE: 17

Micron rarely hire for SMTS level. I am a PE in Micron and was offered a role as a Technologist in WD. Didn’t go due to personal reason. SMTS in Micron probably be 180K-250K

Base salary
240k for sr tech in WDC is at the higher end. I was sr tech since 2015, still about $200 now. Sr tech hired out from my req 3 years ago was 215-220. Wdc sr tech = MU principal now.
Depends upon location, PE in Mu is equivalent to Sr Tech in California but not in Boise …215-220
