I am expecting an offer from Axon for an L9 level. Can someone please tell me how it maps to FAANG? Is it L5 or L6? #axon #software #engineering #swe
Surprise you’re the CEO now
Wtf has axon stock rocketed. Is it cause more black folks are being targeted by police
They call it "Senior II" and it is between "Senior" and "Staff". Since FAANG tends to be a little stiffer, I would say that Axon is about a half step lower (relatively) and Axon L9 is probably around the high end of Google L5 skill/responsibility-wise. The pay, is lower, so I think that's why levels.fyi lays it out the way it does: https://www.levels.fyi/?compare=Axon,Facebook,Google&track=Software%20Engineer
Thanks! I am offered. 220k base + 10% bonus + 110k stocks. But, then the stocks are vested over 3 years and there is the make-up grant. This is very confusing to me as it brings the total stocks vested after 1 year to around 90k.
I was also confused by this before I started. 110k is the stock compensation that should be vesting for you every year. Regular Axon RSU grants vest over 3 years, at 33.3333% per year. Axon grants OTE RSUs every year, at the end of the year (in your case 110k each year). Since new hires haven’t been working the two years prior to their start date, they will be missing 66.666% of their stock compensation for their first two full years working. The makeup grant is there to “make up” part of that 66.66% that will be missing. It won’t be equal to the full 66.66% for each of those years, because of the annual grant I mentioned.
Same question but wondering what L7 at Axon would equate to, L3 FAANG?
Would you know the level and salary for senior product manager level II?
It maps to Amazon L9
