U.S. and other NATO countries spent trillions over decades to build the military alliance to resist Russian aggression. And when the actual war started, they ran away in fear of provoking Russia giving up everything it wants. American population is being fed with the fairy tale of saving 60 billion of taxpayers’ money by not helping Ukraine. Senators are cheered for blocking it. At the same time, 800 billion per year on the U.S. army that cannot assert its dominance is not a problem. Don’t you see that giving up on Ukraine makes overblown military spending a complete nonsense? Don’t wanna be the world power? Reduce it by 80%, back up from Europe and live in isolation while China, Russia and Iran rule the world. No vision. No political will. No moral stance. Do you feel ashamed as an American? Because I do. #uspolitics
This a delicate political situation where every mistake can cause a shit storm and I think it was dealt relatively well by the west. One of the biggest reasons for the fall of soviet union was the Afghan war which after a decade almost bankrupt them. Same with Ukraine, the west should find creative ways to send weapons to them without provoking all in war in Europe and let Russia slowly collapse.
Why do you think it’s only the West who should fear shit storm? Why not Russia that barely matches few percent of the budgets of Western countries? How did they convince us that they don’t care? How helping Ukraine to regain their own territories can provoke Russia? I felt embarrassed when Austin told that Crimea is a part of Ukraine, but, when asked whether they should regain control, couldn’t find words to give an answer. Is it a part of that advanced plan to defeat Russia? Not being able to tell that black is black and white is white? The longer the war is lasting, the more political influence Russia will gain in Europe. You already see that in Hungary and Slovakia. I doubt we have another decade to wait until Ukraine becomes a desert and Russia changes its political leadership. You’ll see it here as well — “we” 2.5 years ago and “we” today are not the same, “our” attitude towards Russian war is not the same, and it’s another win for Russian Federation.
