Dental Implant Vs Bridge

Hi, I am looking for a solution for a missing tooth. Can you please share your experience with implants vs. bridges? #dentalplans

Looking for the same info.

Hi - I opted for the bridge and was miserable because it was hard to clean. Things constantly getting under as it hovers over the space. High maintenance over and above already taking care of my teeth. In the end the bridge failed and 2 years later I had to have the bridge removed and two implants put in. If I could do it over again I’d just get the one implant because the bridge shaves the teeth on each side way down to get the bridge cap on. Trust me if it’s just one and the other two are good teeth just get the implant. Yes it’s a long process, yes it’s expensive, but my 2 implants are awesome no problems.

How much does it usually cost?

Cisco dearleader Apr 7

My dental insurance covered half so for me it was about 4k. It’s broken up into visits with healing time in between so you won’t pay it at once and you can time it to be across two calendar years for dental $$ reset. The expense is why people just get bridges, but not only did I have to get the bridge and have it removed later but needed 2 implants instead of 1.

Have implants. They work well. Suck to get but worth it.

Is it a bad experience to get one in?

Yeah getting one for me took 3-4 months healing time between 3 parts. A lot of work but happy with it.

Implant is the best alternative to crown, bridge etc. it lasts forever

Meta xhusted Apr 7

If crown can work, isn’t it better than implant?

Crown lasts few years and then it breaks. Then you probably can crown one more time and will need implant. So why don't do implant early on and save $$$
