Haven’t been on Reddit for a few weeks, checked in today and the entire front page reads like the ads on a 2010 era news website. Where did all the cool original content, art, memes, etc. go? #reddit #clickbait
Reddit's actual app and site are terrible. They forced everyone out by jacking up API prices and ending the top third party apps. Now all that's left are people so entrenched in Reddit that they can't leave and all they do is circlejerk each other's safe opinions and upvote BuzzFeed-type content. It's sad. But at least ChatGPT scraped the useful bits before it ended.
Reddit has been this way for a while lol. I just used the mobile site.. the people using 3rd party apps are the serious ones.
I havent used the site for a second after the api changes. They probably lost a lot of users, enough to change the platform over time.
Can someone who works at Reddit explain why the video player is an atrocity of engineering? Aren't you ashamed? Literally the default video HTML player is far superior. Doesn't bode well for reddit standards of hiring.
The entire website is an atrocity of engineering.
The video player is overengineered to death
Lots of big subs post and comment volume dropped by up to 50% after the blackout. They’re pretending like everything’s normal but it’s not. You can see it on subredditstats.com
I suggest everyone limit their Reddit consumption to subreddits that they explicitly choose. Don’t accept the drivel that they try to push on you. It is not adding value to your life.
You must've accidentally clicked on a post from those subs. Just keep muting the ones you don't like. You'll eventually be left only with the ones you like.
Their recommendation algo stinks!
They changed the format of comments too recently. The upvote downvote buttons have been moved from below to above comment. Found out I've been voting on the wrong comments after a while. The whole comment section feels squished now. Even some usernames are half cut off. Their app sucks already and it's getting worse!
Every day. OMG TRUMP N REPUBS on the front page. Remember the Afgan pull out and it didnt even get a Megathread on Politics or much talk. Only time Ive seen users there sniff out it may all be propaganda and asking how a massive policy fail didnt get mentioned. Used to use Imgur a lot. Probably 1 year before moron Trump, lots of anti-repub stuff starting showing up and being artificially boosted out of the blue. It's like how 'broolyn dad defiant' can be looked up on Actblue with payment from the DNC, same with Jeff Tieldrich. Always dem shills on the pay roster. Elon, of course, exposed how entrenched this is with Twitter Files.
"social media website with a large left leaning demographic has too much left wing content" 😩
Only thing Elon exposed is how gullible uneducated right wing is. He also exposed his genitals in exchange for a horse 🐎 but that i am sure you are ok with.
Reddit is full of low IQ idiots who lack prestige
This seems like typical Reddit ?? Clickbait for millennial / genZ. Reddit is only good for following your hobbies and local communities.
Even local communities get astroturfed and taken over by authoritarian mods who push their own agendas. R/sandiego is a perfect example
