I no longer work at Argo AI and work at one of the big tech companies. I have been there for about 5 months and my first stock vest is not until October 2022. Not to go into too much details, the job wasn’t what I expected and I am bored and unmotivated. I much prefer the working at a startup that works on impactful problem than to be a cog in giant machine. I am debating if I should quit or stay for about 10 months for my first stock vest. I will be leaving just over $130k at today’s stock price on the table if I quit before October 2022 (and this might be higher or lower by then) That’s a lot of money in my opinion. But then time is money. I am not sure if it worths 10 months of my life as I can be growing my career and working on more important problems during this time else where. TC: 349k (if I include the RSU that I am considering abandoning)
Stay and vest
Rest and vest
Life is short. Vest only if the other offer isn’t more enticing.
Bad advice, If op works at big tech, he should just stay and take the 130k in vest before leaving. Would only recommend to leave if current place is toxic or a bad company
Not if the new company is 2x+. My brother in law went from 550k tc to 1.2m you think that 1.2 m job will be open in 2/3 a year?
If you’re not being worked hard take it as time to leetcode and pursue hobbies until you leave
