Staff Eng position. I want to know where I am in the band. Salary 185k Sign-on cash bonus 35k Annual Perf Bonus 20% (37k) Sign-on Equity grant 120k over 3 years Potential annual refresher grant up to 100k over 3 years 12 YOE Previous TC (layoff) ~380k #tech #offer #walmart
“staff” This is right around what non seniors make in big tech. Staff engineers at other companies make 500k+ Still congrats tho. In this market even this is an achievement
Wait this looks kinda low for Staff.
Major title inflation going on over there. Staff = non-senior = L4
YOE? For what it’s worth this is exactly what I make as a staff engineer at Disney
Ouch this seems low, esp for staff
Not in this market
Walmart pay peanuts but doesn’t do layoff . So choose what you want
I know for sure they had layoffs in 2008, 2017, and 2022. Probably other years, as well.
Ya lol Walmart is a McKinsey client they 1000% do layoffs
Which office though. There are different tiers. In Bentonville, you will make less than Sunnyvale.
It's in Sunnyvale. The offer widget has a field for location.
Base can go to 220.
Seems to be less for your experience can go easily to $220k base
Base pay could be a higher but they have compensated with healthier sign-on + initial equity grant of 120K. Considering the total package, it is a good one. If you could negotiate base pay to move closer to 200k mark, you have a great deal for walmart staff engineer position
You are exactly mid to high band. Not the highest though
Thank you! Do you enjoy working for Walmart?
It’s terrible to be honest. But a job is a job. Very team dependent - Walmart connect is slightly better due to much higher profit margin. For supply chain it’s likely the worst
