Walmart may soon be giving me an offer for a Senior tech role in Silicon Valley. The pay is $160k base. Not sure about the TC yet. This could force me to relocate as they are saying that they want a candidate within commuting distancing of their location. Currently living in a LCOL area making $65k base + benefits. Is this a good move? I've heard from multiple sources saying Walmart has a bad reputation. I'm a white guy.#tech #walmart
I have had a negative experience when attempting to apply to Walmart. As a highly experienced and successful professional in the field of data science, I usually receive numerous invitations for interviews. However, this was not the case with Walmart; they were not responsive and I felt disregarded. It is possible that my race played a role in their refusal to give me an opportunity, or perhaps because I am not of Indian origin. I say this because I met the hiring manager at a hiring event and felt dismissed. Regardless, I can confidently state that Walmart is not a company I would choose to work for.
I'm sorry for this experience you had with them. Thank you for letting me know!
You need to wake up, Walmart has huge Indian footprint but it’s not like you are some god level ds. There might be other factors like head count, your arrogance and ignorance 🤣😂
Tell me more about the culture
Probably just bait but... what does "white guy" give context to here? Do you think we'll give different advice?
Seems to be a lot of people asking if people are desi on this platform
