Hi How is the work culture in Walmart labs Sunnyvale for Engineering teams? Is it very long hours like 60 to 80 hrs. Late night calls with offshore teams? Work pressure etc? Is it similar to Amazon? Can some one working in Walmart please chime in? Thanks #Walmart Sunnyvale #Walmart e-commerce #walmartecommerce #walmart #walmart engineering
Why does Walmart need labs?
Culture? Depends on your ethnicity. If you are Indian you will be fine. There are 95% indians. Off shore calls yes. Early morning or late night. Weekend on-call. Weekly hours between 30-50. It’s not like with amazon . Better wlb than Amz
How are the job security and performance reviews in general?
Thanks any idea about the program management team which works closely with Supply Chain Engineering team? How is that team etc? How is work pressure for program managers? We’re there any layoffs? I heard that there are no specific holidays even on July 4th, Presidents’ Day or Labor Day you need to take a PTO is that right?
WLB at Walmart global tech is very bad. You need to be in constant mindless meetings from 7am to 10pm, with some breaks sometimes, other times you don't have time to even go to the bathroom. This overload would have been fine if the management was appreciative. Upper management is constantly under stress, and passes it down. Most managers are always angry. Everybody I know is looking for jobs outside, we have people leaving the group every week.
@ramu Da - Can you email me your contact details at abc@maildrop.cc
My team does have diversity and decent wlb tho. Late night or early morning calls really depend on your team.
GCQ thanks any updates about the program management team? Do they work late night or early morning calls?
Don’t join the Walmart plus program team it’s hell
