What is your perception of Walmart labs? A friend got an offer to intern there as a data scientist and wants to know how people regard engineering at Walmart. And the offer is 25$/hr - is that low for a grad student at a top tier school?
I think highly of Walmart labs. Based on the people I work with that came from there.
I think it's pretty good given that you get accommodation as an intern. Also there is lots of data sciency stuff to do

They pay much more in Silicon Valley. Arkansas is very inexpensive and could be a great experience.
Depends on where it's at. In silicon Valley mid size firm, I worked for a $42/hr internship 3 years ago.

If they are covering travel and accommodation, then it's fine. Otherwise I think it should be higher.
