How and when is Walmart’s sign-on bonus paid out? Is it part of the first paycheck? Before? After? TC: $280k YoE: 2.5 #walmart
It’s alright. Relative to the area (southern WI), the compensation lets you live like royalty. But most of the time, WLB was bad (frequent on-calls, mandatory “immersion” where you had to go (or virtually go) to a hospital, obsolete/obscure tech stack with a high learning curve, lots of work, noticeable office politics).
What is Epic? What do they do?
I believe it’s paid out upfront. Breakdown of Tc?
170/34/65/15 base/performance bonus/rsu/sign-on
This is for which location and level? I assume it’s for SWE
It gets paid on your second paycheck if I recall correctly
Thanks for the info
Curious is $280k your Walmart tc?
Yes
Wow nice, that’s solid for 2.5 YOE. Congrats!
Congrats. Can you share your epic TC and also how it's split.
Epic TC was just salary/bonus of like 110k/10k. The bonus is performance/company based and it varies widely depending on your role (I've heard anywhere from 5-25%). I got ~10% bonus each year. You can take the bonus as cash and/or company stock (privately owned)
Joined in August and got mine with first paycheck
Why not ask your recruiter/HR contact?
Because recruiter will probably say “refer to the offer letter” and the only language used in the offer letter is that I’ll get the bonus “as soon as it’s administratively possible but no more than 30 days from the date of hire.” Which is a valid answer I guess, but I was interested if current Walmart employees had a more precise answer
You need the cash before 30 days is up that bad? I got you 👊🏼
