There is no guarantee for promotion in Walmart , min it will take 1.6 years if you are really good else I have seen people on same level for even 3-4 years , on other hand VMware stock are shit and layoff is regular

It seems to be good in a way where other hardware vendor can be partnered with, apart from Dell without any conflicts
While there are two promo cycles in VMware (July and December), I would take this claim of guaranteed promotion with a grain of salt. I don't think anyone other than VP could guarantee that.
