I just quit a startup doing Site Reliability work and was kinda burnt out so I wanted to hop ship to larger companies for better WLB. I got SRE type offers from: AWS (On site) ~ $200k TC Walmart (Remote) ~ $180k TC From the interviews and culture Walmart sounds like WLB would be good and I wouldn't have to move, but I'm not sure if I should be at a chill company this early into my career (1 YOE). I know AWS would be a resume booster and career defining position especially since I was able to join my favorite team but I can always join MANGA later when I get my sh*t straight right? My mind is telling me to go with Walmart but only because it sounds comfortable and comfortable usually means you should run away but I'm not sure. What are your thoughts guys? Plz leave a comment with ur vote :)
AWS will allow you to learn at break neck pace as well as open all sorts of doors. No brainer. You’re not at a TC level where you should prioritize WLB.
