Received verbal offers from both and wondering which one to pick. Macro-economic conditions say Walmart for immediate stability vs Flexport for 'maybe' a soon (2-3 years?) IPO event ? Both roles are Sr SWE and roughly the same Base + Bonus, Bay Area Walmart- 4 yr equivalence on RSU+ Refresher : $200-300k Flexport - Paper money over 4 yrs( at last strike price maybe worth 200-400k) Current: 0 - Doordash laid off #tech #walmart #flexport
Both. You can easily do more than one job
This guy gets it
haha.. 'some' of the smart ones maybe, but am ok with just managing one and spending rest of my time on other things in life than work :)
What’s your base at Flexport?
The quality of people and engineering will be miles better at Flexport. I hope you are considering things beyond TC in your decision
Does Walmart still want people to eventually move to their HQ when they finish the new $1B+ campus? Guy I know who works there says Walmart pays like 50-60% at HQ of what they offer west coast hires.
Flexport seems more stressful since they are focusing on hyper growth. Maybe you want a high growth environment tho. I personally just want a chill job
If you're interested in rapid career growth my very biased opinion says Flexport is a no brainer.
Whats the walmart offer breakdown ? I also recently got sr. sde offer we can talk
Did you move to doordash recently ?
Real money stocks from Walmart > Flexport paper money
Fair, especially in this market. Flexport does have bigger cash bands now FWIW (but equity is still illiquid as a pre-IPO company).

Potential IPO not up for consideration tbh. IMO no one is going to IPO anytime soon. Too risky to hedge on it
Agree..hence the question- stay low or take the risk? Also wondering about career growth tbh at the same time..
