I’d go with Walmart - Walmart is better on resume and Texas has no state tax.
I will save more money with Visa for sure. Visa TC is better. But I am curious which company people think is safer
Check with HM if they have team working from IDC Banglore, if yes you might have to join calls in the night . I am assuming they offered you SE3 , for SE3 base seems to be low .Some of my friends got 105k base in Bentonville. Walmart visa and immigration is handled by Fragomen , they are very slow.
I do have India team. Walmart HR said base is fixed. Visa immigration is also very slow. I know I was lowballed by Walmart but HR said base is fixed. Now, I dont know if its because this is in Sam's side.
Many others are getting 105k , please check levels.fyi once .
Walmart would be better choice if tc could have matched with visa. That Walmart's base is extremely towards lower side and your best bet is to move on with Visa.
Walmart HR said to take it or leave it basically. COL is lower in Dallas and no state tax mean I dont think TC difference will be that much...
Dallas and Atlanta COL will be almost same. Also, at visa gc is initiated at day 1. At Walmart, it has to go through couple of approvals.
Walmart is good in terms of job security
2020 mass layoffs and small layoffs before that as well.
Most of the layoff leadership left. They still rank random people low. Sometimes forced but not a force removal like amazon.
Sharing my exp at Walmart I don’t know about the TX location office but I worked at their Bay Area office. The team I got into stinks. The work culture exhibited lot of silence and favored nepotism. On my first day I asked a few colleagues to show the office and they bluntly replied there isn’t much to see and they laughed among themselves. I imagined the rush to murder them. While the situation at AR hq location, the head office is lot more worse. They try to squeeze 8 people in a cube that fits 2 people. I think they should change their motto from ‘save ppl money so they can live better’ to ‘I’m gonna make you uncomfortable in your dreams too’. It was sad that none of the team members like to socialize. No empathy for the newbies joining the team, nor exhibited any sense of team spirit. Also, the PM is spineless and exhibited poor leadership qualities. They have a tendency to hire lots and lots of H1B visa holders for the tech jobs, ironically I’m on my work visa too, but I quit my job soon after 6 months. Ugh it gives me the cringe thinking of it even after many years passed by. I have friends from Visa Inc. They never complained and but I must say it’s not an extraordinary place. The company is doing well so far. The employees lead a normal life. That’s all I know. My 2c. Know your team better. It’s a give and take relationship. Good luck!
When I was talking to HM at Walmart they admitted that sometimes one can take calls at early morning and nights too. And 45 hours is expected. The only data point from Walmart said good things about team from second hand knowledge.
I have preference for Dallas > Atlanta and Walmart being remote... but Visa has better benefits, insurance, security etc
can’t speak to green card experience but Visa typically is rock solid for job safety
Green card experience Visa is much better than Walmart .
first hand knowledge?
Yes I worked in both .Visa the process takes care for itself .In walmart you have to keep on following up with Immigration and it is painfully slow
If savings are same go with Visa and thank me later
With Visa, if you are in technical role like SWE then Visa will file i140 in no time..
Op, idk if that is really true lol. They have slowed down

What’s your new TC ?
What is your YOE and Level at Visa. You don't have to worry about layoffs at Visa. Never heard of that. I would go with Visa for peace of mind and also gc filing
