Has anyone had success negotiating an offer at Disney for their corporate offices? This would be for an HR role. In addition to base salary and signing bonus, were there other benefits you could negotiate? Thanks! #disneycompensation #disney #disneyoffer
(Tech) I had a hard time negotiating salary, but sign on bonus and initial stock grant were negotiable.
Can you give me a referral? Found a matching opportunity there.
I negotiated my starting salary successfully, but they weren’t doing sign on bonuses and I didn’t get stock grants or anything. That fact, combined with the then-current job and what I was walking away from made it easier I think to negotiate.
Thanks! What part of Disney do you work for? I got an offer from Disney corporate, Base is 105k and sign on is 15k
Corporate. :) This was 5+ years ago though.
I am aiming for the SWE role @Disney but haven't get any call. anyone willing to give referal please?
My advise to you is to NOT take an HR role at Disney right now. They just switched systems and IT IS A MESS. Try for anything other then HR
I negotiated full remote. It took a ton of back and forth discussions because they really wanted me in Florida. Everything else is pretty standard. You can pick between free park passes or free Hulu / Disney+ and you can change your mind once per year. There isn't a lot of wiggle room on the things they offer.
Thanks for the response! Did you have any luck negotiating base salary or signing bonus?
I started by asking for more than I expected. Then there was a whole lot of "we don't pay that much in that area" and "then pretend I'm in your area. I'm going to make you just as money here as I will there." Then the recruiter said he would try, but no promises. Eventually, they just gave me everything. I thought I would take a small pay cut to be remote, but they just gave me everything. It took several weeks, but it was worth it.
